Ethereum Staking at Record Highs Tightens Supply Dynamics: Ethereum staking continues to deepen into April 2026, with 38.7mn ETH staked, representing 31.8% of total supply, up from 35.6mn or 29.3% at end-2025, reflecting sustained accumulation despite subdued price action. Demand remains elevated, with a 2.8mn ETH staking queue after peaking at 4.1mn in early February, while the unstaking queue has dropped close to zero, signalling minimal exit pressure. This momentum is increasingly driven by institutional players and digital asset treasuries, including Bitmine, which has raised its staked holdings to 3.1mn ETH, around 1% of total staked ETH, following a 167,578 ETH increase in recent weeks as it rebuilds exposure, with its commercial MAVAN staking network launched Mar. 25, 2026 to further scale staking and yield generation. Notably, Blackrock’s iShares Staked Ethereum Trust (ETHB), also launched on Mar. 13 2026, reinforcing institutional adoption. As a proof-of-stake system, Ethereum requires participants to lock ETH to validate transactions and secure the network, earning yields of around 2.5–4%.
