Bitcoin Tops $72K on Ceasefire: Bitcoin has tested $72,000 after the U.S. and Iran entered a temporary, conditional two-week ceasefire, pausing operations after an intensive campaign from late February to early April. the move triggered a relief rally as geopolitical risk eased, and one clear barometer is Brent crude sharply back well below $100 per barrel. Whilst Polymarket contracts related to the US-Iran ceasefire by various dates now reflect a resolution, this is still less than a full de-escalation and more a tactical pause to enable negotiations, with Iran advancing a 10-point framework that ties any settlement to sanctions relief, release of frozen assets, reduced US military presence, and compensation, alongside a formal protocol governing the Strait of Hormuz. As part of this, Iran has signalled a temporary arrangement to allow coordinated and controlled maritime transit through the strait if attacks cease, underscoring the transactional nature of the pause.
