  • Bitcoin Resilient Despite Global Yield Shock: Bitcoin has remained relatively resilient following progress on the US CLARITY Act (see below) despite a sharp tightening in global financial conditions driven by a historic rise in sovereign bond yields and renewed pressure across equity markets. US 10-year Treasury yields climbed back above 4.5% as 30-year Treasury yields moved above 5% for the first time since 2007, while UK 30-year gilt yields have reached their highest levels since 1998 and Japanese long-dated government bond yields rose to levels not seen since the late 1990s. The broad rise in yields reflects mounting concerns over inflation, fiscal sustainability, and tighter global liquidity conditions, which have started to weigh on risk assets after US equities briefly touched record highs on May 14 before S&P500 and Nasdaq futures reversed lower in early trading on May 15. Asian equities also weakened, with the KOSPI coming under pressure amid broader risk-off sentiment. Against this backdrop, Bitcoin’s ability to hold around $80,000 suggests that improving regulatory clarity and institutional adoption prospects linked to the advancing CLARITY Act (see below) are increasingly outweighing broader macro headwinds, including risk aversion pressures in traditional financial assets.
