Hyperliquid SpaceX Value Loop Paradox: The native token of Hyperliquid, HYPE, has experienced a sharp price decline. This drop has coincided with SpaceX shares falling below their initial IPO price of $135. The correction exposes the volatile reality of their symbiotic relationship, at least in the short term. Originally, this connection centred on a massive wave of speculative trading via synthetic perpetual contracts ($SPCX), which allowed investors to trade SpaceX’s pre-IPO private valuations and pushed early synthetic valuations past $2trn. Upon its official debut on June 12, 2026, SpaceX trading volume exploded to $1.4bn in a single day, fuelling a programmatic value loop where 99% of protocol fees bought back and burned HYPE tokens. While this aggressive supply reduction initially triggered a price rally, it ultimately links HYPE’s financial success to the market momentum of its most heavily traded synthetic asset, at least in the short-term.
